It definitely is. She happened to be in the right place at the right time last month and was interviewed for local radio and tv and was managed to mention the kids only class she goes to – hopefully the tradition will keep going a few more hundred years!
Lol! It does take some patience for sure. It’s changed her too. When she first started she was having trouble concentrating at school and now she’s far, far better and I’m sure it’s the lace classes that have helped – didn’t expect that bonus too!
Daughter says thank you! Yes, very different hobby. We popped into the museum in town during school holidays about 4 years ago and there were little old ladies demonstrating. Took me about an hour to drag her away and she’s not stopped since!
Thank you! Honiton lace is amongst the most delicate in the world…they have to have specially made lightweight bobbins as those made for other types of lace just break the thread!
Thank you! She’s done a beautiful job on it. She demonstrated as part of the town’s Antiques Week on Saturday and the lady who’s shop she was working in gave her the frame – sets it off perfectly 🙂
A pretty piece of work…. I love Dolphins 🙂

Thanks! It’s my daughter’s. She finished it yesterday. It was her first piece that she chose herself after her “learning” pieces 🙂
