He made Simnel Cake although of course there was much “here’s one my minions made earlier” going on. Shame as the smell of a fresh one would have been lovely.
It was very interesting! It’s a shame the stalls selling things were a bit cramped at the other end of the hall though. Almost needed to be either a demonstration day or a selling day, not both together. But that’s my only moan! :o)
He was great fun and very entertaining. So patient too with all the mad questions he was asked. Give him his due, he answered every single one of them!
He was great – very entertaining! You really can catch him too as he’s about to start a tour of the UK! He said details are on his website. I’d thoroughly recommend it and tip you off if you do go that the people who asked “what does the cake taste like?”, “are your eyes really as blue as they look on tv?” and “can I take a selfie with you?” all got positive responses. I think a couple of people did ask cooking questions too….!

It was the Big Cake Show in Exeter. First time they had it down here. Was a bit gutted we couldn’t get there on Friday when it was Mary Berry day!
